Celebrating 25 Yearsken 2 Copy

Greetings ABLE Members:

My fellow ABLE members, I would like to first wish you all and your families the best of health as well as a Happy and Prosperous New year.

Please allow me to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt appreciation for your demonstration of confidence by electing me as the returning President for the period 2017-2018.   I also want to congratulate the returning and newly elected/appointed members of the Executive; and thank all members who stood for election to executive office. I look forward to working collaboratively and cooperatively with all the members of the 2017/18 A.B.L.E. executive.

As you are all aware we have entered into a historic era of the Association of Black Law Enforcers as we celebrate 25 years of existence. Over these past 25 years we have witnessed significant strides is various areas of Law Enforcement and Community engagement while also agonising over significant lows. We have been the catalyst for changes in areas of hiring, promotion and the establishing of diverse initiatives that some Law Enforcement have embraced and in some cases adopted.

As we celebrate these past 25 years let us not forget part of our vision is to continue to be professional, courteous and respectful while still ensuring that our mandate is the building of bridges and improving the image of Law Enforcement agencies and the Communities we serve.

Let us all strive to make the next 25 years more enduring and inclusive in all areas of diversity and continue to advocate for change that supports the initiatives that will advance parity and non-biases in all aspects of Law Enforcement where we are fortunate to be employed.

I intend to continue to work to the best of my abilities to do what is best for our members and our Association and I thank you for your support during my role as Past President and I look forward to your guidance, continued support, and prayers in my continued role as President.

As you look to me for leadership as your new President, let us work hard together and not see things as others tell us they should be seen, but rather as how they are. I look forward to serving you as we enhance our community and focus on protecting the interest of our members.

We all have a lot of work ahead of us; and together we can continue to ensure that the Vision of those committed Black officers who met all those years ago is not forgotten or marginalised.

Respectfully,

Kenton Chance, President
Association Of Black Law Enforcers (ABLE)

Leaders for the future!
