The Ministry of Transportation, Transportation Enforcement Officers represent the ministry in our direct interactions with bus and truck companies operating in Ontario.To maintain effective front-line service delivery, we know that our officers must reflect the dimensions of diversity possessed by the drivers and Ontarians they serve.  Our strategy to diversify our ranks includes targeted outreach and building relationships within underrepresented communities in order to build awareness of the MTO enforcement officer role.

 

The Ministry of Transportation will be seeking applicants for positions both as aTransportation Enforcement Officer, and also for Transportation Enforcement Officer with Mechanic Credentials.

  • Part of the MTO’s mandate is to keep Ontario’s roads safe. To do this, we employ several hundred enforcement officers to regulate commercial drivers and truck safety behaviour and ensure they meet provincial standards for road safety.
  • One of our current goals is to build a more diverse workforce of enforcement officers to better reflect the variety of cultures and ethnicities in Ontario. This will help us better serve our clients, who come from many diverse backgrounds.
  • We offer opportunities for employment across the province, working in a challenging and exciting atmosphere. Officers participate in varied road safety initiatives, including area patrol, inspections at one of our many Transportation Inspection Stations.
