In 2019 Canada designated April Sikh Heritage Month. Canada has the second largest Sikh population in the world, with over 500,000 Sikhs living in Canada. By designating the month of April to Sikh Heritage Month, Canada is appreciating the Sikh religion and all the contributions made by Sikh people within Canada. April provides all of us the opportunity to familiarize ourselves and learn about the Sikh religion and culture. A.B.L.E. joins our members and their families in recognizing and appreciating the Sikh population in Canada and around the world. Please join us in taking some time to learn about the history of Sikhism, the many economic, social, and political contributions of Sikh people around the world. This is a great time to educate ourselves and our friends and families of a beautiful culture and religion.
-Jacqueline Edwards, President A.B.L.E.
